About the Role:
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for performing high‑quality MIG and TIG welding, fabricating metal components, and supporting production by ensuring all work meets safety, accuracy, and quality standards. This role contributes directly to the manufacturing of metal parts and assemblies used across company projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding using TIG and MIG to produce strong, precise welds that meet project specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts, products, and structural components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and process instructions to ensure accuracy in all work performed.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, ensuring proper machine settings and safe operation.
- Operate hydraulic brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines as required for fabrication tasks.
- Use hoisting and lifting equipment to safely move materials, parts, and assemblies.
- Inspect welds and completed work to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with leads and team members to support production goals and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of welding and metal fabrication experience, including MIG & TIG welding.
- Experience with steel, aluminum and stainless steel is required
- College level training combined with hands on experience is considered an asset but not a requirement.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measure accurately is required
- Commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship is required.
Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Group benefits.
Hours of Work: 40 hrs / week with Friday afternoons off
