About the Role:

Reporting to the production Manager, the Auto Body Prepper plays a key role in preparing vehicles and parts for painting and finishing. This position involves assisting with bodywork and painting processes on the production floor and ensuring high-quality standards in prepping and priming. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work collaboratively across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Paint preparation:
    • Assemble and disassemble the chassis.
    • Hang parts for painting and ensure proper setup.
    • Sand, mask, and prime parts and vehicles using epoxy primer.
  • Surface handling:
    • Work with parts made from various substrates, including aluminum, steel, and plastic.
  • Painting assistance:
    • Support complete vehicle paint processes on both new and used chassis.
  • Bodywork:
    • Perform basic filler repairs and surface preparation for painting.
  • Production floor collaboration:
    • Assist other production departments as needed to meet workflow and quality standards.
       

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in automotive mechanical roles, such as vehicle assembly, repair, and maintenance, is an asset.
  • Have proficiency in basic bodywork techniques, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work with different substrates (aluminum, steel, plastic).
  • Be willing to accept reassignment of duties on a “as required” basis.
  • Be able to review work orders and discuss work with the department.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members.

Remuneration: Starting wage at $19.25 /hr. 

Job Type: Full-time, permanent, indoors, modern factory.

Location: 1100 Aviation Avenue, Dieppe, New Brunswick Canada
